AT&T will offer 3G iPhone as a Prepaid GoPhone
When I bought my iPhone back on June 29th 2007, I was able to activate it as a GoPhone with AT&T (thus not having to sign a 2 year contract with AT&T). iPhone owners quickly learned that failing AT&T's strict credit check, or entering a bogus Social Security of 999-99-9999 would automatically fail the credit check. Who thought failing would be such a good thing? AT&T would then offer to activate your iPhone as a Prepaid GoPhone (no 2 year contract).
I just called AT&T's GoPhone support and asked if I would be able to activate the new 3G iPhone as a GoPhone since I already have a GoPhone iPhone and want to keep it that way. The AT&T GoPhone Support Rep. said that AT&T WILL offer the 3G iPhone as a GoPhone.
