Pre web browser is VERY fast
I attended the Pre webcast that Palm and Sprint held today for the Pre. There really wasn't too much new information. There were some great examples of the features of the webOS on the Pre. One demo I saw was how fast the Pre's web browser appeared.
jkOnTheRun was another site attending the webcast. They picked up on how fast the Pre's browser appeared to be. In the demo Matt Crowley from Palm was demoing universal search by typing "BIG 12"which brought up the search engines since there were no contacts or other information with the phrase "Big 12" on the Pre, the search engine screen popped up and he tapped Google. The site he went to from the google results was
big12sports.com .
The site loaded extremely fast.
jkOnTheRun decided to test the same page load time on an iPhone also connected via WiFi. The website on the Pre loaded in 8 seconds, the same webpage on the iPhone tool about 30 seconds. That's nearly 4x faster than the iPhone.
jkOnTheRun has posted the video demo here . Check it out.
