Microsoft isn't content with renaming future Windows Mobile operating systems, now they're going back in time
Microsoft loves to change the names of their mobile operating system when they announce an update to Windows Mobile, as evidenced by the graph below. Microsoft is now going back in time and is renaming the current Windows Mobile 6.5 OS to
"Windows Phone Classic". This name change will occur when Microsoft releases "Windows Phone 7 Series". You'll have from now until the holiday season to call your current Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone, Windows Mobile 6.5. When Windows Phone 7 Series ships you'll have to call your Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone "Windows Phone Classic". Very clever Microsoft, very clever ;)
