When Apple announced the MacBook Air Steve Jobs pulled it out of a manila envelope. Accessory makers followed, creating cases for the MacBook Air that resembled the manila envelope. An accessory maker has created the "iMaxi", a case for the iPad that resembles a different kind of "pad". The accessory maker is also offering
"With its durable vinyl outer layer and plush, quilted-cotton sleeve, the iMaxi helps keep your iPad clean and dry. Plus, the iMaxi's Velcro-latched, advanced wing design wraps snugly around your device, so your iPad always stays where it should. Best of all, it shields it from all those unsightly and embarrassing data leaks that would make any motherboard worry!"
The company will also offer red threading for the "lived in look".

Pittsburgh, PA – Cardo Systems, Inc., the world’s market leader in the field of wireless Bluetooth®communications for motorcycle helmet headsets, today announced the launch of its new product, the SCALA RIDER® Q2™ MULTISET. The MULTISET retail box includes two ready-to-use, enhanced SCALA RIDER® Q2™ wireless headsets for hands-free and safe bike-to-bike communication (up to 500m/1640ft)* as well as for hands-free conversations when paired with mobile phones.
The Q2 MULTISET was created with the safety, convenienceand enjoymentof motorcyclists in mind. The headsets come pre-paired so that riders can instantly begin communicating with each other. For added entertainment, an MP3 jack is included in both headsets which allow each rider to connect their personal MP3 player to the unit so they can each enjoy their own music. Incoming intercom messages and mobile phone calls automatically override the MP3 music so hands never have to leave the handlebars. An extra large, wind-resistant 195 mm microphone has also been included to greatly enhance sound quality.

To offer a smooth out-of-the-box experience the two headsets come factory paired, so that users can instantly start enjoying the product. As the fifth addition to our SCALA RIDER® line of products, we keep pushing the envelope for our customers by offering optimal solutions for every need”, said Abraham Glezerman, CEO of Cardo Systems, Inc.
The two enhanced SCALA RIDER® Q2™ headsets featured in the MULTISET retail box employ Multiple Device Connection (MDC) technology, with added features that allow bikers to connect wirelessly by Bluetooth® to several audio sources including the following: in-helmet voice instructions from a GPS unit, mobile phone conversations with third parties and intercom conversations with passengers and with other bikers. The headsets also feature high-quality FM radio transmissions from the embedded FM radio. Whether you are riding your motorcycle with a friend on another motorcycle or riding with a passenger, the SCALA RIDER® Q2™. MULTISET is a great way to communicate with another biker while on the road.
The SCALA RIDER® Q2™. MULTISET headsets are also fully backward-compatible with the entire line of earlier SCALA RIDER® models. In addition to MDC technology and Bike-to-Bike intercom communications*, the MULTISET pair offers the same high-quality performance as in previous SCALA RIDER® models, including wind impact reduction, voice controlled receipt and rejection of incoming calls, automatic volume adjustment according to driving speed and ambient noise, full rain and snow protection and more.
The new SCALA RIDER® Q2™ MULTISET is now available through select distributors, retail outlets, specialty motorcycle shops, and directly from the Cardo Systems web site at www.cardosystems.comwith a suggested retail price of $395.95.

If you're like me and own a Palm Pre, I'm sure you'll be very interested in the Amzer® SmartCell Lithium Ion Extended Battery with Black Battery Door . It comes in three sizes, 1400 mAh, 2800 mAh, and 3800 mAh. These batteries are a must if you are constantly charging your Pre since the Pre comes with a measly 1150 mAH battery.

Macsimum News is reporting that a new case for an iPod touch 3G has popped up online. The iPod touch 3G does not exist (yet), it is believed that Apple will be releasing an updated iPod touch and iPod nano that will feature a camera (the above case has a cut out where the camera is expected to be). These are expected somewhere in the late August - September time frame.

Seidio has done it again. They are currently shipping an Extended Life Battery for the Palm Pre . The great thing about this extended battery is that it's the same size as the original battery that comes with the Pre. It comes in at 1350mAH vs the Palm Pre OEM battery of 1150mAH. Seidio is also working on an even larger extended battery that will require a battery door that they will include. I've used Seidio extended batteries on all of my Treos, and they've never let me down.

AppleInsider is reporting that a 3rd party case maker has begun selling cases for an iPhone nano. Apple has not released or announced an iPhone nano (yet), but that's not stopping XSKN from making and selling the cases. This is the same site that began selling cases for the iPhone 3G and the 4th generation iPod nano before Apple announced them, so there might be some truth to this rumor.

Ubergizmo has posted some leaked shots of the Nike+ interface for iPhone & iPod touch. Currently the iPod nano is the only device that works with Nike+. It'll be very cool to have all your user information and graphs on your iPhone or iPod touch, it should keep ya motivated.
***UPDATE*** AppleInsider has confirmed the above pictures are fake. Apple hasn't given developers a program interface to access music on the iPhone. Also notice Coldplay's song "Violent Hill", it's really "Violet Hill".

Apple came up with a clever way of adding ports to their ultra-thin MacBook Air, it's called the Port hatch. As you can see from the pictures the Port hatch flips down for access to a headphone jack, a USB 2.0 port, and a Micro-DVI port.

Once connected to the MacBook Air the MacBook Air SuperDrive works just like all of Apple's slot loading drives.

I figured I'd use a DVD most geeks (especially Mac Heads) would be familiar with;)
The above picture just blows me away, how did Apple make a full featured laptop so thin?? The MacBook Air SuperDrive is thin on its own, but compared to the MacBook Air it's almost twice as thick. Gotta love the people in Cupertino for always pushing the limits.

I'm really tempted by the MacBook Air. I called my local Apple Store Monday evening and was told that they expect to have MacBook Airs in stock Wednesday. My last Apple portable (not counting my iPhone) was a 12" PowerBook. I'm about due for one;)
Check out this case, it's called AirMall . It retails for $29.95.
What is this made of?
The AirMail laptop sleeve is handmade out of durable upholstery-grade vinyl, and lined with fuzzy, soft fleece. All AirMail sleeves have the same dimensions as standard interoffice manila envelopes, which will serve to remind you -- and everyone around you -- that your new MacBook Air really is the thinnest laptop in the world!
Why?
Well, we think Apple's MacBook Air is a revolutionary computer, and we thought we'd take Steve Jobs up on his idea that it can fit inside a standard manila envelope. Besides, we wanted a cool case to show off our new laptops!
Is this padded enough to protect my laptop?
AirMail laptop cases are lined with thick fleece, which will protect your laptop from any cosmetic damage and smudges, and keep it safe from bumps in daily use. It is not suitable, however, for any extreme use. But geez, treat your MacBook Air kindly! Who made this?
The AirMail is the brainchild of Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans, two Apple geeks with combined handicraft-and-idea-person superpowers! Find out more information on AirMail here . What a cool case!!
