"Samsung just announced the SGH-L870, which was first noticed in Holland, in mid April. Now official, the L870 reveals its pretty look and features. As expected, it is a S60 smartphone, but we are happy to see it runs on the latest Symbian 9.3 and 3rd Edition of the S60 interface with Feature Pack 2, just as the newest Nokia smartphones. It definitely looks better than on the spy photos, with stainless steel body and brushed pattern.
Samsung will load it with a few applications straight out of the box (including task manager, PIM homescreen plug-in, and business card recognition function), but for us, the most interesting feature, which will be available in the L870, is the Safari Internet browser. This is a big surprise, since until now, it was present only in the iPhone, but apparently, Samsung has collaborated with Apple to use it in its phones (not yet announced). Although the S60 default browser is very good, we guess the Safari will surpass it in every aspect." Via Phone Arena .
"Safari 3.1 for Mac and Windows is blazingly fast, easy to use and features an elegant user interface," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, in the press release. "And best of all, Safari supports the latest audio, video and animation standards for an industry-leading Web 2.0 experience."
The incredible performance of Safari, combined with its elegant user interface, lets users spend more time surfing the web and less time waiting for pages to load. Safari features an intuitive browsing experience with drag-and-drop bookmarks, easy-to-organize tabs, an integrated Find that shows the number of matches in a page and a built-in RSS reader to quickly scan the latest news and information.
Safari 3.1 is the first browser to support the new video and audio tags in HTML 5 and the first to support CSS Animations. Safari also supports CSS Web Fonts, giving designers limitless choices of fonts to create stunning new web sites.
Safari 3.1 is available immediately as a free download for both Mac OS X and Windows users. Safari software updates are delivered seamlessly through Apple's Software Update application, which automatically checks for updates.
Apple’s multitouch technology began life not as a cellphone, but as a notepad-sized skunkworks project internally dubbed Safari Pad, run by Tim Bucher, then Apple’s head of Macintosh hardware. To his credit, Mr. Jobs seized on the technology and morphed it into the iPhone." Via MacRumors .
Not a bad start for Apple;)
